Member Information

 

This hidden gem is nestled in the hills of Orinda, just a few minutes from the Orinda Theater Square. The outdoor pool, nestled among towering live oaks, an historic spring and lush gardens, consists of a partitioned wading section and a larger pool complete with a diving board and lap lanes. The water ranges from 1 foot in the wading area to 9 feet at the deepest end.


POOL Rules of Conduct;

  1. NO LIFEGUARD ON DUTY. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

  2. Children under the age of 14 may not use the pool without a parent or adult guardian in attendance. Parents are responsible for their children when they are using the pool and facilities.

  3. Pool gate must remain CLOSED at all times.

  4. Members are required to sign in their attendance during each visit. SIGNING-IN and OUT is the responsibility of each household.

  5. NO RUNNING on the deck.

  6. Shower before entering the pool and limit your shower to conserve water.

  7. Members are responsible for removing ALL personal items when leaving the pool area. Oak Springs will not store any personal items onsite or overnight,

  8. NO water guns allowed in the Pool.

  9. Swim Diapers - if your child is under 3 or not potty trained, they must wear swim diapers. We have some, please ask!

  10. Pets are NOT allowed on the grounds or in the pool area.

  11. No diving except off the diving board.

  12. Diving Board Rules: One person on the board at a time, make sure the water in front of the board is clear of swimmers prior to the dive, dive/jump only straight ahead (not to the side of the board), swim clear of the area in front of the board following a dive/jump so others may safely use the board, no hanging on the diving board. Parents must supervise children who may be unsteady swimmers and/or new to jumping or diving from the diving board.

  13. NO GLASS.

  14. No food or drink allowed in the pool.

  15. No alcoholic beverages allowed in the pool area.

  16. Please observe parking designations in the neighborhood. If parking on side streets, please park like you live here. Choose to walk or carpool whenever possible.

  1. If, in the past 48 hours, anyone in your party experienced fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle aches, headache, loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion, runny nose, nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea or, in the past 14 days, you or anyone in your household came in contact with anyone who has COVID 19 or symptoms of COVID 19, please do not enter the facility.

Pool Hours

Oak Springs Pool will be open daily from Memorial Day weekend to October. The actual day of closure is weather-dependent and will be communicated near the end of the season.


Pool Guests

Please visit the Guest Tab for details. Due to high enrollment this season, our guest policy has been limited to preserve everyone’s enjoyment. Should the pool and/or grounds become overcrowded, the Policy will be amended. As always, Members must be present with their guest at the time of their visit. They are responsible for the behavior of their guests while on OSP property. In addition to signing a liability waiver, Members pay guest fees here or with the QR Code onsite.


Air Quality Index (AQI)

OSP will close for the remainder of the day when the AQI hits or exceeds 150. Please check the reading online prior to visiting the pool. You will not receive a notification of pool closure. There is a PurpleAir sensor onsite. This is the current reading.

CALL 911.

If there is ever an emergency that requires 911 assistance, use your mobile. There is also a red Emergency Telephone that allows local use only, located on the wall of the pool house above the sign-in and out sheet.

ARE SINGLE-DAY PASSES AVAILABLE FOR NON-MEMBERS OR CAN I TRY OUT THE POOL PRIOR TO PURCHASING MEMBERSHIP?

This is a Member-only Pool. No single day passes or trial swim days are offered.

MAY I BRING A GUEST?

Please check the guest page for limits and fees.

DOES OSP ACCEPT APPLICATIONS FROM MEMBERS OUTSIDE THE OAK SPRINGS NEIGHBORHOOD?

You do not have to live in the Oak Springs neighborhood to join OSP and anyone can volunteer to help make Oak Springs a great place to swim.

ADDING AN AU-PAIR TO MY MEMBERSHIP?

An Au-Pair may bring the kids to the pool in your place if you obtain prior permission from the Oak Springs Home Association Board of Directors to add her/him for an extra fee ($100). Otherwise, only those who live with you in your household may be included on your family membership.

ARE FLOATS & TUBES PERMITTED IN THE POOL?

They are permitted as long as they do not disturb the enjoyment of other swimmers. They are not allowed in the lap lane and need to be removed from the pool when not using. Depending on that day’s pool capacity, they may not be allowed at all. The Pool Attendant will advise and none may be left on premises. Water guns are prohibited.

MAY I DROP MY CHILD OFF AT THE POOL?

Children, ages 14 and older, may be dropped off at the pool without parental supervision, however they must be aware of and follow all pool rules. Parents must go over the rules with their kids. Children ages 13  and younger must be accompanied by a parent (or designated adult) who will be asked to sign a liability waiver. All Members are required to sign in and out.

MAY I BRING MY OWN Food/BEVERAGES TO THE POOL?

NO GLASS. Glass containers are prohibited. NO BEVERAGES ARE ALLOWED AT ANY TIME IN THE POOL.

WHAT TYPES OF MEMBERSHIPS ARE AVAILABLE AT OAK SPRINGS POOL?

Oak Springs Pool offers individual, couple, and family memberships with a one-time Membership Fee in addition to the annual dues. Please visit our Membership page for more information or to be added to the waitlist.

HOW CAN I HELP TO ENSURE THAT OAK SPRINGS POOL REMAINS A SAFE & ENJOYABLE PLACE FOR ALL OF OUR MEMBERS?

Ensuring the safety and enjoyment of all of our members is paramount at Oak Springs Pool. There are NO lifeguards on the premises. We expect all members to follow the established POOL RULES. Failure to follow rules and regulations will result in membership cancellation without refund.

IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN DO TO MAKE OAK SPRINGS POOL BETTER?

Yes, there are many things you can do to help make Oak Springs Pool a better place. After each visit to the pool, please leave your area clean and move all patio furniture to its original location. If you would like to do more, please contact us at orindapool@gmail.com.
