Oak Springs Pool

Oak Springs Home Association offers summer swim memberships to Individuals, Couples, and Families.

This hidden oasis is nestled in the hills of Orinda, just a few minutes from the Orinda Theater Square. As a volunteer-maintained neighborhood pool, we are committed to preserving the historical significance to the Community.

The historic pool is situated among towering oaks, has a children’s wading section and larger pool complete with diving board and lap lanes. The water ranges from 1 foot in the wading area to 9 feet at the deepest end. No lifeguard is on duty at any time.

We open starting Memorial Day weekend to mid-October. The actual day of closure is weather-dependent.

Memberships will open in March for the 2024 season. Wait-list inquiries can be made to orindapool@gmail.com.

Looking forward to the summer tradition of swimming at Oak Springs Pool!

A Historic Oasis

Oak Springs Pool, originally spring-fed, was built in 1929 on land reserved for general recreational use by residents of the area. Nathan Gray, a prominent early 20th century land owner in Oak Springs, led the project. The pool was built on the site of a man-made swimming hole circa 1900. The spring no longer feeds the pool, however remnants of the original rock-laid fountain still exist on the ivy-covered hillside adjacent to the pool.

In 1945, residents in the area built a clubhouse on the property. They formed a homeowners’ association to help manage and maintain the facilities and oversee membership. The volunteer-run board of directors continues to manage this not-for-profit facility today.

We are proud of the history of Oak Springs Pool and clubhouse and strive to continue the tradition of making this beautiful spot a magical source of recreation and relaxation for all members. We look forward to hosting your fun-filled summers and year-round events for many years to come.
